It's not Monday...it's not even Tuesday....it's Wednesday. Wednesday at 5AM no less...
I went back to work last Thursday and honestly it's been a tough transition. I haven't worked in over 4 months and getting back into the swing of things has been harder than I thought it would be.
B still isn't consistently sleeping through the night, and some nights he is still waking every 2-3 hours...add to that the anxiety of a new school year and my mile long to-do list and you have one tired mama. Luckily, last night lil' man gifted me with almost 7 straight hours of sleep...I am a whole new woman today...until about 2PM that is ;)
When I first decided to run a fall marathon I knew the back to school crazies and this new season of life as a working mom would be my biggest challenge. How will I fit it all in?
My only option for fitting in a run right now is early, early in the morning.
B has been waking up around 7, which gives me plenty of time to feed him and get him ready for daycare, but that means I have to be ready by 7...which can be tough if I am also trying to throw in a run. It's only been a couple of days and I have already had to cut a run short due to a lack of time (and motivation) and I have a feeling this won't be the last time this happens.
I am working hard to give myself grace in this process and allowing myself the time to get adjusted. A new school year is always tough...and throwing in a new baby and marathon training surely isn't going to make it easier :)
And while marathon training is important to me...my family and spending time with B is more important. There will be days where something's gotta give...and that something will never be Bennett. I am prepared for some shortened (or missed) training runs and lots of flexibility with my training plan and hopefully over the next few weeks I can find my groove...and B will start to consistently sleep through the night #FingersCrossed
